Avengers: Hank's Fetish by magickmaker Avengers: Hank's Fetish by magickmaker
I think I like Hank’s thing with Greer so much because it isn’t as creepy as a lot of Hank’s other relationships. And that’s kinda saying something.

All characters belong to Marvel.

Lets not also forget the alien that had been impersonating  him was originally a female. And she took his form so well that the DNA had him as the father. No Skrull at all:o.

Hawkeye had sex with a Doombot and Aunt May had sex with a Skrull so... pretty much anything goes, right?

its so true. Hank is like the worse hero ever. He makes things worse (Ultron anyone?) than if he never did anything and his relationships all really suck. I like how after Janet died everyone was all sorry for him but i was thinking don't you guys remember that he used to beat her? that's why they broke up. I think he's the only super hero wife beater that exists.
And I mean Tony Stark and Reed Richards are so much cooler and smarter and don't create things that pretty much destroy the future of humanity. Seriously.

I think that was a one off that's got out of control. Once, while not the most mentally stable and about to be court-martialled, Hank lashed out. This doesn't excuse it, but people always forget that. Since then, he's spent a lot of time trying to make up for it. It doesn't help that for some writers, that's all they seem to know about Hank Pym "Created Ultron, Messes up a lot, Beats wife" (In fact, I think Reed once hit Sue during the John Bryne era) In fact, it seems to be a huge thing in-universe that people snidely whisper it behind his back.

And if you read Mighty Avengers Dark Reign, you do see how Hank has suffered over the years -he originally thought that he was the smartest man on the Avengers and that would be how he'd contribute, then found out that Iron Man was Tony Stark. Since then, he's had an inferiority complex because he never feels he can never match up to the others.

Ultron was an accident, and within a few issues of that, he ended up having a personality crisis and 'woke up' as it were to find that he was now married to Wasp.

Although I do agree that Hank's relationships are all rather creepy. I do like the Tigra thing though.

The only time Reed hit Sue in 616 was when she was possessed, the rest have all been in "what if's". But other than that, your right. Pym was going through a mental breakdown, and when Janet found out, she manipulated him into marriage rather than getting him help. Not to mention that he spent years making up for all his mistakes. In the "Ant-man and Wasp" miniseries with Hank and Eric O'Grady it shows him opening a battered women's shelter in her name.

Pym is a great character because he makes mistakes and has real issues ( like dealing with mental illness), but he's a great hero because he keeps striving to atone after screwing up.
